FREE ! , there is no charge to sellers to list their cars on our website! All sellers will receive 100% of the selling price of their vehicle.
2How do we choose cars to list on our auto auction website Gas and Gavel?
We are seeking clean unique performance auto enthusiast vehicles, both new and used, from any decade , from the 1940’s to the 2020’s. From cars, trucks and suv , import/ domestic/ European/ Italian , one off , mass produced, exotic , limited run. If it has 4 wheels, we are interested in seeing and helping you sell your vehicle to other like minded auto enthusiast.
3Can I sell if I am not in the United States?
Yes we sell cars from the USA , Canada as well as internationally.
4How do I submit my vehicle for sale?
On our main page , click on sell your car. You will be prompted to answer a 5 minute questionnaire where you will provide us with vital information on the vehicle such as VIN, Year, Make Model as well as submit to us some exterior as well as interior photos of the car. If we are interested in listing your car, we will contact you privately for a more in depth questions to finalize your sales listing.

7Who writes the sales listing?
We at Gas and Gavel do ! We will ask you the right questions and we will write a detailed, exciting sales listing for your vehicle. Once written we will provide you with a final sales listing example for your to approve. Once approved and only once you have approved will your sales listing go live !
8How do I contact Gas and Gavel regarding my sales listing?
once live, you will be able to contact us via a chat with us tab. We will respond to your questions either immediately or within 24 hours.
9Can I schedule when my sales listing goes live?
No, but we will work with you directly on a case by case bases if there are pertinent reasons why you need your auto auction start a particular time and will do our best to accommodate to your needs.
10How long will my auction last?
Auctions can last from 3 - 7 days. We will determine and work with the seller to determine the best timeframe to get your vehicle sold. Generally most auctions will last 7 days.
11Do I get paid for my car immediately after the auction ends and is sold to the highest bidder?
No. The transaction and payment for the vehicle won on Gas and Gavel will be between you the seller and the buyer. The seller and winning bidder will receive each other’s contact information via email from Gas and Gavel. The speed in which the seller will get paid will depend upon various factors, such as responsiveness of buyer/seller. Some ways to expedite payment from buyer is the the seller to have the certificate of title in hand, provide a copy/picture to buyer, have any loans paid off on car before sale and have a bill of sale prepared. We recommend the seller send the buyer a photo of the certificate of title and a bill of sale prior to the buyer sending payment.

12 Can I place a reserve price on my car? I want a specific amount for my vehicle how to I ensure that happens?
Yes sellers can sell their car with or without reserve. A car sold with reserve will only be sold if the winning bidder price is higher than the reserve price set by you the seller. We will work directly with you the seller to come up with the best reserve price to get your car sold quickly and at a fair market price.
A no reserve auction means that the car will be sold at the highest bid, regardless of how low or high that bid may be.

13 Should I tell buyers my reserve price?
Never share your reserve price with buyers. This information should only be known between you the seller and our staff here at Gas and Gavel.
14Can I make a deal with buyers outside of this auction?
No, vehicles listed on Gas & Gavel are for sale only and exclusively on this auction website. Any attempts by either the buyer or seller to make a deal outside of the auction will result in permanent banning from our website.
15How can I be sure that the buyer will even buy my car after they win my auction?
We charge all buyers an automatic 4% buying commission fee at the time of bidding. If the buyer backs out of the sale, we will charge them that amount and will at our discretion ban that member from our website. This provides incentive to all buyers to follow through with the purchase and send payment in full to the seller.
If the winning buyer backs out of the sale, we will immediately contact the 2nd highest bidder and will work with him/her and you the seller to complete the sale.

16My reserve was not met, what now?
We will contact you the seller and the highest bidder , and will work with both of you to come up with a sale price. You pay nothing, and the buyer will pay a lower buyer commission fee of 2% to Gas and Gavel. If we are unable to finalize a deal, we will happily re-list your vehicle at no charge until it is sold.
17How does the winning buyer / winning bidder get in contact with me to finalize payment and sale?
At the end of the auction both the buyer and seller will be provided with each other contact information. Both buyer and seller will work with each other to finalize payment as well as shipment of vehicle, transferring of title to new owner.
18How do I get paid safely for my car?
A bank wire transfer between the buyers banking institution and the sellers banking institution is the recommended way to pay for a vehicle.
There are other ways of payment such as cashier’s check, in real life meet up at bank between buyer and seller, electronic money transfer, cryptocurrency etc, but it is up to the responsibility of buyer and seller to privately arrange and access the risk and benefits of each payment form before making payment.

19Do I need a bill of sale?
Yes ! Please check your local dmv for a Bill of Sale form usually available for download via PDF from their website. Fill in all information asked for in that bill of sale such as time, date, sale price as well as signature form both buyer and seller. Provide the bill of sale to the buyer after receiving payment. Remember to keep a photocopy for your records.
20How long as auction results listed for on your website?
Forever. Always and forever, Permanently. We do this to allow transparency for buyers, sellers, enthusiast as well as for the entire online auction community.
