Step 1
Say hello !
buyer and seller should contact each other with the provided contact information.
Seller - Provide proof of ownership to buyer via a picture / photocopy of the certificate of title to sold vehicle
Buyer - Request copy / picture of certificate of title for vehicle as well as bill of sale before payment.
Step 2
Documentation
Buyers will need to pay for the vehicle in full within 7 days of auction closing.
Seller will create a bill of sale (check with your local DMV for Bill of Sale form ) that will include the amount and terms of transaction that will be signed by both seller and buyer.
Step 3
Payment
Buyers we recommend the safest way of payment to seller is a wire transfer from buyers banking institution to the sellers banking institution.
There are other ways of payment such as cashier’s check, in real life meet up at bank between buyer and seller, electronic money transfer, cryptocurrency etc, but it is up to the responsibility of buyer and seller to arrange and access the risk and benefits of payment form before payment
Step 4
Shipping / Title
Seller and buyer will arrange for the car to be picked up or shipped to buyer.
Seller should only release vehicle and title to buyer AFTER the seller has received the full payment of vehicle in hand.
Buyer will arrange with seller to give in person or mail the signed over title to buyer via courier service (FedEx / UPS etc) with tracking number once payment has been made.
Note : If there is an outstanding loan on vehicle, the buyer and seller will work together to figure out how that loan will be paid off. Example if the seller has funds to pay it off, it should be paid off before the sale and provide proof from your lender to seller that the loan has been paid off.
Example if the seller does not have the funds, the buyer may work with the lender to pay of the remainder of the purchase price of the vehicle.
Coordinate pick up location of vehicle in person if local. If out of state, work with seller to arrange shipping of vehicle using any auto transport shipping company.
Step 5
Enjoy your new purchase !
And Hopefully you have made a few new auto enthusiast friends along the way !
Gas and Gavel is not responsible for any financial / shipping / buying / purchase issues errors, scams that may occur between buyer and seller and vice versa. Buyers and sellers must do their own due diligence post auction closing.
